Hunting Season Reminder for Sears Island

HUNTING SEASON REMINDER: Please be advised that after careful consideration and consultation the Friends of Sears Island board recently adopted a new hunting policy. Hunting is permitted on Sears Island from October 1- December 31. If you visit the island during this time, we recommend that you wear fluorescent orange or bright red clothing and stay on the trails.

PLEASE NOTE: Actually, most hunting has always been permitted on Sears Island. The only exception has been coyote hunting, since that is legal year round in Maine. Our newly adopted policy is that all hunting, including coyote hunting, is permitted from October 1-December 31, for licensed hunters during the appropriate legal season for game being hunted.
